PhotoAsia (formerly Picture Library Sdn Bhd) is Malaysia's pioneer stock photo library. Established in May 1992, PhotoAsia was the first local image bank to specialize in the marketing of high-quality pictures of Malaysia by Malaysian photographers. Today we represent 80 photographers directly at home and abroad, and we represent over 30 libraries overseas with over 4 million stock images on our website. Over the past 17 years PhotoAsia has earned a reputation for marketing the best quality images, the most creative interpretations of popular scenes which will live up to their tagline that Powerful Pictures Speak! What is the history of PhotoAsia and who is behind it?PhotoAsia was founded in 1992 by Doreen Lau, with the vision of creating a picture bank that would specialize in the marketing of images of Malaysia and the Asian region. PhotoAsia is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. PhotoAsia started with a stable of only 10 photographers; Today we represent over 80 photographers directly, including award-winning photographers like Song Jin Tek, Arthur Teng, Pang Piow Kan, Tan Lian Hock and Zainal Halim to name a few. What does PhotoAsia offer?PhotoAsia focuses on delivering images of Malaysia by Malaysian photographers. Our products include PhotoAsia RM, our Rights-Managed collection, and PhotoAsia RF, our Royalty-Free collection.
